MINISTRY GROUPS
THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Our Mission is: to serve Christ in the Poor with love, respect, justice, hope and joy. The St. Clement’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is comprised of men, women and young adults who serve the Poor living within the St. Clement’s parish boundaries.

Our members (called “Vincentians”) volunteer a few hours each month when it is convenient for them. All volunteer help is much appreciated.
The Poor we serve are comprised of individuals and families who are in emergency situations - folks in need of food, clothing, furniture or other necessities. Our members deliver grocery vouchers to the homes of the Poor in the Preston area of Cambridge. We also serve the Poor at Christmas, providing vouchers for groceries and toys through the generosity of the parishioners of St. Clement’s Church. Our Society operates a Thrift Store in Galt so we can provide the Poor with vouchers for items such as gently-used clothing, furniture and/or housewares.
Parishioners are invited to support the St. Clement’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul by placing their donation in the Church collection basket and marking it “Society of St. Vincent de Paul”. If donating by cheque, please make it payable to “Society of St. Vincent de Paul”. We are a registered charity; income tax receipts are gratefully issued if a parishioner provides their full name and address.
If you wish to support us by donating funds electronically, you can do so via Canada Helps. Our Registered Charity number is 132410671RR0174 The direct link to the Canada Helps site for our Society at St. Clements can be found here:
SUPPORTING LIVES of PRAYER ...
Prayer Network
Our Prayer Network consists of parishioners who pray confidentially for anyone who asks. Prayer requests (intentions) are received by telephone/email and passed, member by member, to the next person on the list. Their purpose is to provide prayerful support. Anyone with a heart for prayer is welcome to pray, in any way they can, for those in need.
Cenacle of Prayer
Our Cenacle of Prayer meets in church for about an hour every Friday following the 8:00 a.m. Mass. They recite the Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Peace Rosary. They conclude with the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a Marian hymn and a hymn to Jesus. Anyone who feels drawn to this devotional time is welcome to take part.
Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament
Each Friday of the month, the 8:00 a.m. Mass concludes with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome to spend quiet time in prayer until 9:30 a.m., when Benediction is celebrated.
Sacristans
Our sacristans are volunteers who take care of the sacristy and other areas of the church. They clean the sacred vessels, fill the holy water fonts, launder church linens and dust the sacristy. Some of our parishioners beautify the church with flowers throughout the year.
Rosary Makers
Our Rosary Makers are men and women who gently promote the Rosary. Together with members of other parishes, they visit Catholic schools and teach children how to make their own rosary. They also visit the seniors at Marian Residence to make rosaries for the Missions.
